about

the origins and results of my work may be as inscrutable to me as to anyone else. aspirationally, finished pieces could be an attempt to communicate a certain nostalgia for reality, and could serve as a reflection of what i wish for myself-- a more authentic participation in the unfolding of life. in practice though, i see that my motivations are mostly all too human, as higher impulses become lost and yield to habit, inner chaos, and subjectivity. and yet support from patrons and fellow seekers reminds me, so again i stumble toward the pursuit of beauty and feeling.

i use mostly oil--though sometimes acrylic-- and gold leaf. heavy on pure turpentine. visible frames are custom hardwood, fabricated in-house where i live in the boston area.

visual art has been a serious aspect of my creative life since 2017. i have no pedigree, and i hope that my work may be judged by the experience of the viewer.
